Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando, Autograph Collection Phase One

Orlando, FL

BUDGET: $4M
OWNER: Xenia Hotels & Resorts

The Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando, Autograph Collection is the perfect getaway for Florida locals and tourists alike. The hotel’s convenient location to many in-demand downtown attractions, combined with its AAA Four Diamond status and luxurious hotel amenities, make it a popular resort destination for leisure and business travelers, as well as special event gathering and weddings.

In May 2022, Continental Contractors began the first of a massive two-phase renovation project at the Grand Bohemian. Phase one focused on the extensive public space renovation throughout the hotel which included: the lobby, restaurant, meeting spaces, ballroom, lounge, fitness center, public restrooms, plus the pool and pool deck. Continental also executed a redesign of the on-site Starbucks, deftly adhering to brand standards. The “Piano Rotunda”, an elegant focal point of the hotel, also received significant upgrades during the renovation.

The floor-to-ceiling transformation throughout the Grand Bohemian included entirely new color schemes, flooring, furniture, artwork, and fixtures among other impressive design details. Continental expertly installed an intricate black and white arched waterjet pattern of marble porcelain tile for the floor of the hotel’s Bosendorfer Lounge in addition to gold leaf finish, new millwork, ceiling and wall murals, new wood flooring, along with new plumbing, FF&E, and lighting fixtures. Elements of black and white were infused throughout the hotel common areas to emulate a sense of upscale sophistication. Beautiful black columns, vinyl wall coverings, plus stone and metal works helped enhance this elegant style.

Other public space highlights included the renovation of the pool and pool deck. Continental improved the structural integrity of the upper level pool by adding a galvanized steel support system, a new shell, tiling, and waterproofing bond coat. A new bar and lounge were built for the space and installed, as well as a new hot tub/spa near the pool.  Extensive landscaping and installation of a sprinkler system was also a part of the significant pool deck upgrade.

Continental Contractors and project designer The Getty Group worked together to maintain elements of the hotel’s original European-inspired aesthetic while welcoming a new ambiance and a modern, eclectic approach to luxury. The massive public space renovation concluded in April 2023 and took a total of nine months to complete. Read about the second phase of the project, the guestroom renovation, on our website here.
