Located in the heart of our nation’s capital, the Grand Hyatt Washington, D.C. is within walking distance from the Capital One Arena, the Smithsonian, the White House, and many other museums, memorials, and landmarks. An ideal destination for out-of-town travelers, the Grand Hyatt offers guests a luxurious respite from the busy city and its must-see attractions.
Continental Contractors launched a ten-month renovation at the Grand Hyatt Washington in February 2024. The hotel’s transformation focused on updating the 900-plus guestrooms and suites throughout the property, guestroom corridors, and the Club Lounge, a space reserved for select guests to gather and enjoy light happy hour and buffet refreshments. The existing GM residence and two Congressional Suites were also converted into new Parlor Suites complete with comprehensive upgrades. Notable guestroom enhancements include new luxury vinyl flooring, stylish inset carpets, and new closet doors, while Presidential Suites received new hardwood floors and bedroom doors. All guestroom doors were stained and outfitted with upgraded hardware for a more contemporary finished look. The renovation also included new lighting, paint, and wallcoverings throughout.
Guest bathrooms received stunning new wall and floor tile, enhancing the spa-like effect for travelers. Continental Contractors expertly installed striking Calacatta tiles with veining in varying shades of blue, on the floor and shower walls, arranging the tiles in an eye-catching 2×2 mosaic pattern. The guest bathrooms, which also received new stone-top vanities, shower doors, modern plumbing fixtures, and intricate tile details provide a spa-like oasis. Three quarters of the hotel tubs were also converted to showers.
In addition to guestrooms and suites, Continental updated hotel corridor elevator lobbies with new carpet, paint, vinyl, and sconces to complement the extensive upgrades throughout the hotel. The Club Lounge received significant enhancements to its space as well with custom millwork and new quartz countertops, further elevating the overall guest experience. The renovation was completed in early December 2024.
