Touted as “Miami’s Bayfront Icon,” the Intercontinental Miami Hotel is one of the city’s most luxurious destinations with panoramic views of the downtown Miami waterfront. The Intercontinental prides itself on offering guests a premier hotel experience complete with one-of-a-kind events and within close proximity to Miami’s business centers and famous beaches.
January 2023 marked the beginning of a 13-month renovation at this impressive property. Part of a massive renovation plan, the Intercontinental entrusted the 652-guestroom renovation to Continental Contractors. The scope included 22 executive suites as well as two presidential suites and a reconfiguration of the property’s Club Lounge to allow for two additional guestrooms.
The elevated style now features modern decor, with design inspired by the dazzling Miami skyline and Atlantic Ocean views. Guestrooms received new bathroom flooring and wall tiles embellished with honed marble accents expertly laid in a chevron pattern, marble-tiled showers, and new stone top vanities for that added touch of luxury.
Continental executed the installation of elegant marble flooring in a sophisticated herringbone pattern as part of the stunning design of the two presidential suites. Bleached walnut accent walls were installed in both rooms, adding an extra level of warmth and comfort. Executive suites had new millwork installed in the kitchenettes and the bathrooms were fitted with indulgent soaking tubs. All guestrooms received new carpet, wallcoverings, fresh paint, and more.
Continental also contributed to the transformation of the hotel’s Club Lounge with extensive millwork, new flooring, and vinyl wallcoverings, enhancing the overall guest experience. The total renovation spanned 29 floors and was completed in February 2024.
