Kimpton Hotel Enso
San Francisco, CA
BUDGET: $3.5 million
OWNER: HTLV SF LLC (KHP)
Located in the heart of San Francisco’s Japantown neighborhood, Kimpton Hotel Enso is designed to encapsulate the open Zen circle, meant to evoke connectivity, strength, and the embrace of beauty in imperfection. An ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of California’s Golden City.
In December 2022 Continental Contractors completed an eight-story, 131-guestroom renovation of the property, formerly known as the Kimpton Buchanan. The five-month renovation involved a complete rebranding and redesign, pulling inspiration from the surrounding neighborhood and mixing traditional Japanese sensibilities with California chic design elements. The result? A beautiful, welcoming space balancing a minimalist design with refined elegance.
Continental began construction in July 2022, working quickly and efficiently to overcome scheduling hurdles as a result of supply chain disruptions. All 131 guestrooms received a thorough abatement of hazardous materials, new carpet and paint, vinyl wall coverings, lighting fixtures, and warehoused FF&E. Continental also completed the necessary work for proper ADA conversions and added hearing impaired rooms. Bathrooms were outfitted with shower conversions, new shower doors, wall and floor tile, plumbing fixtures and accessories.
In addition to the complete guestroom renovation, Continental also freshened up the lobby, public restrooms, fitness center, and meeting space with fresh paint and vinyl wall coverings, as well as column cladding in the lobby.
