The Jay San Francisco

San Francisco, CA

BUDGET: $12.1M
OWNER: KHP Capital Partners

Situated in the heart of downtown San Francisco, The Jay is one of the newest additions to Marriott’s Autograph Collection. Located in the middle of one of the city’s most iconic and walkable neighborhoods, The Jay San Francisco is in close proximity to many popular attractions like Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, the Embarcadero, Union Square, Golden Gate Bridge and more.

In April 2023, Continental Contractors began a seven-month, 360-guestroom renovation at The Jay, converting what was once a Le Meridien property into the luxurious Autograph Collection hotel property it is today. The project included a comprehensive overhaul of all sections of the hotel. The renovated guestroom design plan required meticulous attention to detail and precise execution, tasks the Continental team executed beautifully.

Continental installed top-tier FF&E, specialized wall coverings, premium tile, and sleek black fixtures throughout the 360 guestrooms across 24 floors of the property. Unique elements like warm oak wood screens with bronze mirror detailing, custom closet doors inspired by the building’s facade, and a stone-and-walnut console combining the desk, dresser, and minifridge, add distinctive touches to the rooms. Custom lighting and soft carpets further enhance the aesthetic.

Each room features strategically placed, angled floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking views of the Bay, historic Coit Tower, and the beautiful downtown skyline. The Penthouse suite also underwent a distinctive alteration with specialty clay paint, custom millwork, wood flooring, and a luxurious five-fixture bathroom. Inviting ambiance throughout all rooms is achieved through warm wall coverings, soft furnishings, and clean lines. The project was completed in November 2023, just in time for peak holiday travel.
