In April 2023, Continental Contractors began work on this comprehensive public space renovation, expertly crafting a reimagined look for the lobby, restaurant, and common areas. Continental skillfully installed new millwork and beautiful back wall screens at reception that greet each guest upon arrival. The lobby’s beautiful stone work and stunning chandelier are complemented by the addition of new vinyl wallcoverings, fresh paint, and new carpet, creating a captivating first impression.
Work began on the lobby-adjacent lounge, Peacock Alley, in June 2023. A welcoming gathering space for visitors, Peacock Alley envelopes guests in an ethereal atmosphere, where intricate carpet patterns, carefully curated fabrics, and a focal stone wall adorned with metal details evoke the allure of the peacock and capture the imagination of the guests. This space received new stone and millwork at the bar, Armani marble flooring, and fresh paint throughout, along with vinyl wallcoverings, signature design pieces, and new bar equipment.
Continental Contractors also lent their expertise to the transformation of the Bull & Bear, the award-winning steakhouse. Updates to the space include new stone tops and millwork at front and back bar and wait stations, new vinyl wallcovering throughout, new carpet, fresh paint, and new quarry tile at the bar and wait stations. Continental also installed new bar equipment for the renewed space, the finishing touch to the refined dining area.
The reimagined Waldorf Astoria Spa also received careful attention during the project, ensuring it remains a tranquil oasis with updated amenities for all guests, featuring thoughtfully crafted spaces, a Salt room, and freshly debuted seasonal treatments.
The exacting attention to detail and expert craftsmanship poured into this project demonstrate the level of commitment Continental Contractors has for upholding the strict brand standards of the esteemed Waldorf Astoria, ensuring that every guest experience is truly memorable. The complete public space project was completed in December 2023, after eight months of construction. The Waldorf Astoria Orlando received a well-deserved spot on the 2024 Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards.
