Located in the heart of the Mile High City, the Westin Downtown Denver is conveniently located near Union Station, Coors Field, shopping, dining, and entertainment, making it the perfect location for visitors. In 2023, Continental Contractors had the pleasure of completing a nine-month public space and guest room renovation at the Westin Downtown Denver, completely redefining this, now, luxury space.
Continental aided in a beautiful transformation of the lobby area including a vibrant living wall, a testament to the Westin’s commitment to sustainability. Adding an element of grandeur to the space, a magnificent staircase was meticulously crafted from the ground up, inviting guests to the newly created – and very popular – meeting area. This grand lobby transformation also includes a warm and welcoming fireplace sitting area, sundries location, and an elegant new bar, collectively enhancing the overall guest experience. Continental also converted back-of-house offices into a new 3,000 square foot meeting space, which required raising the fire egress staircase by an impressive 24 inches.
Two months in to the public space renovation, Continental Contractors began its upgrade of 432 guestrooms and suites by installing: new energy efficient fan coil units in all guestrooms, luxury vinyl tile with plush carpet inlays, fresh paint, and stylish wallcoverings. New FF&E and lighting fixtures were installed in all rooms and the bathrooms were updated with tub to shower conversions in 75% of the rooms, new floor and wall tiles, all-new accessories, and exquisite stone-top vanities. The rooms received new wood and glass bath doors and thresholds, enhancing both aesthetics and room functionality. Custom millwork cabinets, and sliding glass exterior doors, rounded out the renovation of the 19th floor suites. The entire project took place from October 2022 to July 2023 and is slated for LEED Silver certification.
